Founded in 1921 by Loka Shikshana Trust over strong morals, to promote patriotism and nationalistic ideas, and the need to report the truth, the newspaper is headquartered in Hubli. Loka Shikshana Trust was founded by senior freedom fighters of India around 80 years ago, during the turbulent national movement. Its editor is Hunasawadi Rajan and it is printed and published by Ashok Shanbag. The newspaper is a daily publication available in the broadsheet format. It gives news, views and commentary from the state and across the country. It covers national and international news, developments in business and economics, sports and feature articles among other newsworthy topics. Parallel editions are published in Bangalore, Mangalore, Davanagere and Kalaburagi, making it a popular daily in the state of Karnataka.
